Learning to dance can take a long time.
A new dancer can take a couple of years to feel comfortable.
Dancing is something you can do your whole life, so whatever pace you go out at is fine.
However, when you only dance once a week, you often miss weeks.
You may end up dancing only twice a month.
Progress is slow, because you have to repeat the same lessons.
When I miss weeks, I feel like I am standing still.
I forget what I learned last time. ~ Erick
You can move up your timetable for learning to dance
from a couple of years to a few months if you dance more than just once a week.
When I was first learning to dance,
I used to leave after the first hour or so, when the teaching ended.
It took me two years to feel comfortable enough to stay for the whole evening.
When my cousin started dancing, she was so enthusiastic she went two or more nights a week.
In only a few months, she was staying for the advanced dancing.
When you dance twice a week, you get better faster, more than twice as fast,
because you reinforce what you learned and move on.
When I started teaching my own group, even though we had a small community, I organized dancing twice a week.
I did not want to wait two years to do advanced dances. My plan worked. We were able to do advanced dances after only a few months.
If you want to progress faster, try dancing twice a week.
